About WarBSD

WarBSD is a FreeBSD 5.0 based wireless "network auditing kit" (a.k.a war driving kit). It's inspiration was WarLinux
and the desire to see if "it could be done on *BSD."

The concept and initial releases have been done by me (Stacy Olivas). Others have expressed interest in contributing
and steps are being taking to make this easier (including the setup of this website).

At this point, WarBSD is still very much in it's infancy. As time goes on, I hope that it will mature into a very powerful and
useful wireless auditing package.

Systems Tested On

I have personally tested WarBSD on these laptops. I've included any problems encountered under notes:

Compaq Presario 700US (RAM: 256mb, Processor: AMD Athlon 1.0 GHZ, Conceptronic Prism 2 PCMCIA Card)
Notes: None

Compaq Presario 700US (RAM: 256mb, Processor: AMD Duron 900MHZ, Conceptronic Prism 2 PCMCIA Card)
Notes: None

Dell Inspiron 8100 (RAM: 512mb, Processor: Intel Pentim III 1.2GHZ, Conceptronic Prism 2 PCMCIA Card)
Notes: 0.2.1's fire screensaver does not work on this system. Gives the non-critical error: fire_saver: the console does not support
M_VGA_CG320. (This just means I need to compile in a more generic screen saver in future releases).

WarBSD boots on these systems, but for some reason has a problem (see notes):
Compaq Presario 1200
Notes: PCMCIA card services do not work correctly.

If you would like your system added here, please drop me a line (see contact page for more info).
